Awards and Recognition
Indiana PTA has brought back their Awards and Fort Wayne Council is following suit! This committee is going to be working off of the information turned in to Indiana PTA, but also wants to build off of that up here! We need ideas for awards we can offer! Are you creative and want to help us call out all of the awesome work our units and volunteers are doing? Email Shelley with ideas and to help! [email protected]
Community Relations
Tiffany Eckert, our Community Relations Chair, has been connecting the PTA Council, and in turn our units, with community groups and businesses. When you see the Council at events such as FWCS Block Party, Open Streets, Passport to Pre-K and other community events, Tiffany has worked behind the scenes to make sure everything is running smoothly.

Grant and Fundraising
Janelle Tulley is our Council Committee Chair for Grants. She is eager to help our Fort Wayne units the information they need to get that free money from National PTA! Grants are usually open for about 1 month between the end of August and beginning of October and Janelle is here to answer any questions you may have. She is part of Shawnee PTSA's Anti-Vaping initiative that all started with a $1200 Grant they won in the 23-24 school year! Want to learn more about grants and grant writing?
For the first time in since 2019 Council has brought back fundraising. With our activities low during (and just after COVID) we have not needed to bring in funds, but we are back in action and ready to support our families more than ever. To do all of the activities we would like to that takes some money. We have a few, district wide, fundraisers planned so far this year and would like to hear your ideas for more.
Want to help with either of these? Email Janelle to chat at [email protected]

Male Engagement
Fort Wayne PTA has had one of the strongest Male Engagements in PTA, nationwide. Let's get back to that! We are rebuilding and regrouping! Keep an eye out for our callout meeting in December! We are ready to get rocking and rolling!
Our first Male Engagement Committee event will be January 9 at the FWCS Trailblazers meeting.
Want to join this committee and increase our male involvement in PTA and our schools? Want to spearhead this committee? We would love that too! Please email council at [email protected]

Membership
Emily Croy has joined Council as the Membership Chair! She comes to us from Young & Weisser PTA, who has a very strong membership base. Emily is full of ideas to get parents back involved in "bite size pieces". She would love for you to be part of her crew!
Currently our membership team is working hard with our Diversity and Male Engagement Committees to bring up our numbers and change the look of PTA in Fort Wayne!
Come spring, Emily will be sharing with more information about our boards about membership drives and how to get parents involved! Look out for workshops and more!
One HUGE benefit of joining a PTA unit in Fort Wayne is the discount card with thousands of dollars in savings! We are looking for a Discount Card Chair to head up this crew. This group of volunteers would reach out to local businesses asking them to support PTA. They would also be in charge of staying in contact with the business, posting on our Facebook group to share who is on the card, designing the card, and keeping records. They would work hand in hand with the PR and Marketing team on the webpage.

PR , Marketing, and Social Media
Kasey DeLucenay is currently our PR and Marketing Chair. This committee is in charge of any flyers for meetings, workshops, etc. Kasey also maintains the Council webpage. We are looking for 1-2 people to handle each of those aspects. Council can provide any potential committee members with Canva Pro access. Weebly experience is preferred for anyone interested in helping with the website, but not needed. Kasey is willing to teach both Weebly and Canva to anyone who wants to help! Both are very easy programs!
Want to help with getting the word out about PTA? Are you creative (or want to be creative)? Email Kasey at [email protected]

Unit Involvement
Fort Wayne PTA Council is trying a new incentive program to get our units more active in all things Council! Each unit has been given a "punch card" and can earn "punches" at council, trailblazers, and some Indiana PTA events. The units who reach the tiers will be put into a drawing for prizes!
Also part of our Unit Involvement Committee is a potential "borrow box" from our council storage unit. Committee Chair, Shelley Black, is working on stocking up our council storage with items PTA units may want to borrow - cotton candy machines, money counters, popcorn machine, Cricut, etc. She would love help building this up and getting this program off of the ground.
Founders' Day is a huge event that all of our units participate in every winter. Shelley is working hard with this year's host school to get the event ready for you all.
